About Elizabeth Edwards BSc (Hons), DIP, AACP, HCPC, MCSP.
I am a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), Health Care Professions Council (HCPC), Physio First, Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP), and The Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute (APPI). I would advise that you check the registration of any healthcare professional before using them to ensure they meet the industries high standards.
I trained at St George's Hospital University of London and have since gained experience with a variety of patients in top London hospitals including those with musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries, neurological conditions and cardio-respiratory problems.
I developed a passion for musculoskeletal/sports injuries and hence specialised in this area of physiotherapy, establishing my private practice in 2011 to provide specialist musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Sports/Deep Tissue massage, 1:1 Pilates and Western Medical Acupuncture.
I regularly take part in post-graduate courses (known as Continuing Professional Development or CPD) to ensure I am up to date with the most cutting edge treatment techniques. I have previously taught sports massage, and occasionally have Physiotherapy students shadow me so they can learn what the job involves. I have also completed a season with a football team, covered many rugby matches, treated Olympic heptathletes, and Grand Prix Showjumpers. allowing me to treat a variety of sport specific conditions.
As a competitive showjumper myself I have had my fair share of injuries and therefore have been on the receiving end of physiotherapy (part of what inspired me to choose this career!), and I can therefore empathise with those in pain, and who want to get back to their activities as soon as possible!
